As my first post to the sub—
This poor little guy got stuck behind a perpetually-closed curtain in a south-facing window, and completely forgotten about. There it sat without a drop of water for full-on five years. Yes you read that right, and no I am not exaggerating.
Re-discovered him in early June while prepping for a move, and immediately went into triage mode. Spent three days alternately soaking and chopsticking away the rock-hard wtf-is-this-nonsense I had it planted in, to try and save as much healthy root structure as possible, as there were actually still some roots left. Miraculously. (I admit, I cried a little at what I’d done.)
First pic was taken in June after clearing away all obviously-dead material, second pic is from August, third pic is from this morning. I’m content that he no longer needs babying and will thrive again.

Girl I- you did good
Holy shit. What a glow up. Also the dinosaur in the first picture, standing on this barren dry land is absolutely KILLING me. Incredibly funny
It’s amazing how far a jade can come back, but this is beyond the pale. I never would have expected those dedicated- looking branches to plump back up. Major kudos!
That is AMAZING.
Damn – you’ve got some mad skills! That’s a beauty!
It looks beautiful with this pot and in this color. Gorgeous.
I’m happy that the long neck found the great valley! A round of tree stars for everyone!!!

This is actual necromancy
What an outstanding accomplishment. It’s beautiful. That trunk is amazing. Well done! You should be quite pleased with yourself.
that is absolutely amazing that it recovered – nearly in full – from that condition!!!!! I love how jade species can right themselves up from most directions.
That is impressive! I probably would have chucked it in the trash bin.
I love this!!! It’s like a little bonsai! You should put it in a flat as hell bonsai pot and keep it pruned like this! (Advice from a guy who failed at bonsai)
Or you do you, it’s awesome either way
It’ll survive anything in my experience 😭
Crassulas are some tough plants. Great job on the rehab!
